Our mission is to create modern hair tools that honor the legacy and evolution of textured hair care.

Our joint entrepreneurial story begins with the Mama Tress creative agency, where, in 2017, we first began working together. As a creative marketing team, our mission has always been to correct how underrepresented women of color are in the beauty industry through research, product development, branding, and storytelling. Our first tool, The Edge Styler,® was created by and for a diverse collective of women of color, and we feel strongly that our connection to our community is the reason our product has been such a hit with women and professionals across the around the world.
Edge styling has a very rich, global history.
For generations, Black and Brown women laid their edges using a toothbrush. We launched Baby Tress in 2018 because we felt that our community deserved more than that. The culture of styling baby hairs isn’t just about hair care - it’s about self-expression and legacy. We want to create tools and experiences that honor this history.
